Lürrip's REME Site Transformation Begins: 1.5M Euro Investment in Lot 1

EWMG, in collaboration with Anton Küpper Hoch- und Tiefbau, has initiated a significant residential development in Lürrip. The first phase, Lot 1, has broken ground with an investment of 1.5 million euros, marking the start of an urban connecting axis to the old core of Lürrip. Dr. Ulrich Schückhaus, EWMG's chairman, sees this as a model for creating lively, diverse, and high-quality residential areas.

The development of Lot 1 is scheduled for completion by the first quarter of 2026. It will feature a primary school, kindergarten, and a boulevard-like foot and cycle path. The area will also benefit from excellent transport links, being centrally located with good connections to the main station and S-Bahn halt in Lürrip.

Adjacent lots, 2 and 3, will see the renaturation of the Gladbach, creating an attractive green and recreation area. Additionally, a call for a building site for multi-family houses with an underground garage has been put out, planning 29 residential units with at least 50% publicly subsidized. This is part of the larger plan to create around 300 residential units on three lots in the medium term.

EWMG will start marketing 14 building plots for detached single-family and semi-detached houses using three allocation methods: highest bid, social points, and lottery based on a fixed price. The new building area has already begun traffic and technical development, with approximately 3,800 square meters of road surface and around 530 meters of canal.

The commencement of the Lot 1 development in Lürrip signals a significant step in transforming the former military-used REME site into a vibrant residential area. With a focus on sustainability, accessibility, and diversity, the project promises to create a high-quality living environment for the community.
