Logistics company Leta from Kenya increases operations in Ghana following successful $5 million investment round
**Kenyan Logistics Startup Leta Expands Across Africa After Securing $5 Million Seed Funding**
Nairobi-based logistics startup Leta is embarking on an ambitious pan-African expansion journey, following a successful $5 million seed funding round in March 2025. The investment, led by Speedinvest and backed by Google’s Africa Investment Fund and Equator VC, will fuel Leta's growth beyond its home market, driving entry into multiple new African countries.
The latest expansion sees Leta setting foot in Ghana, marking its seventh active market after Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Mauritius. In Ghana, Leta onboarded its first customer, Simbisa Brands Limited, a major quick service restaurant group with over 600 outlets across 11 countries.
Leta's platform leverages AI-powered logistics technology to optimize delivery routes, provide real-time tracking, streamline payments, and convert shipment data into actionable insights. This innovative approach has helped industry leaders like KFC, EABL, Fargo Courier & Gilani's cut costs and boost efficiency.
Since its pre-seed round in 2022, Leta has achieved 5X revenue growth, handled 4.5 million deliveries, transported 150,000 tonnes of goods, and managed 7,400 vehicles. The company aims to use the recent funding to refine its product, empowering more businesses with cost-effective, data-driven supply chain solutions.
Leta's founder and CEO, Joshi, stated that the funding comes at a critical time for the company, emphasizing the importance of the investment for refining the product and supporting more businesses with a cost-effective, data-driven supply chain. The company remains committed to expanding its reach and delivering operational excellence wherever it operates.
With this expansion, Leta aspires to cement its position as the leading logistics tech platform for African businesses, focusing on expanding into other strategic African markets. This positions Leta as a key emerging player in the African logistics technology landscape.
