Local Restaurant Owner Fined €12,000 for Aiding Illegal Residence

A local restaurant (near me) owner, aged 30, was recently convicted by the Landshut public prosecutor's office for aiding and abetting illegal residence. The individual's name remains confidential.

The conviction stems from an inspection in June 2023, where three Asian nationals were found working illegally at the restaurant (near me), lacking the necessary residence permits. This was not an isolated incident. Earlier, in April 2023, the Main Customs Office Landshut discovered two Asian nationals working illegally at the same establishment. Both men possessed passports and residence permits from other EU countries, but these only permitted stays of up to 90 days within a 180-day period, not employment. In August 2023, following an enforcement order, officials revisited the restaurant. Upon their arrival, several individuals attempted to flee but were prevented by authorities.

The 30-year-old restaurant (near me) owner was sentenced to a fine of 12,000 euros for aiding and abetting illegal stay. The conviction serves as a reminder of the importance of adhering to immigration laws and regulations.
