L 3040 Road Renewal in Rüsselsheim Delayed, Completion Now Mid-May

The L 3040 road in Rüsselsheim is undergoing a comprehensive renewal, with the state of Hesse and the city covering most of the 3.4 million euro cost. The project includes improvements to pedestrian and cycle paths, barrier-free renovations, and a new roadway in the direction of Königstädten. However, the first section's work has been delayed, pushing the completion date to mid-May.

The construction work is divided into two sections, west and east. The first section's delay, due to additional tasks, has pushed its completion to mid-May. Once finished, work on the second section on the eastern side will begin. During construction, traffic will be reduced to one lane per direction and rerouted via a median crossover. Temporary closures of entrances to Bensheimer Straße and Hyundai-Platz will be implemented, with detours via Astheimer Straße or Bensheimer Straße.

The city of Rüsselsheim will install traffic control technology after the road construction between Rüsselsheim and Königstädten is completed.

The L 3040 road renewal is expected to be completed by mid-May, with the state and city covering most of the cost. The project aims to improve pedestrian and cycle paths, renovate bus stops and crossings, and provide a new roadway in the direction of Königstädten. Traffic disruptions are expected during construction, with temporary closures and detours in place.
