Kensa Expands to Scotland, Pioneering District Heating

Kensa Contracting, a leading manufacturer of ground source heat pumps, has expanded into Scotland. With 20 years of experience, Kensa is known for its award-winning retrofit installations and innovative district heating solutions. The company has hired Scottish community heating specialist Matthew Black to drive this expansion.

Matthew Black brings a decade of experience in delivering community energy schemes to decarbonize Scottish communities. Previously at Fintry Development Trust, Black will now lead Kensa's operations in Scotland. Kensa's ground source heat pumps are already providing heating to sites across Scotland, including Orkney Islands Council's facility in Stromness and installations in Unst, Shetlands.

Kensa pioneers 'shared ground loop arrays', a form of district heating that provides each home with its own ground source heat pump. This technology is particularly effective at alleviating fuel poverty in rural areas. Kensa specializes in large-scale installation of its Cornish-manufactured heat pumps, and its expansion into Scotland is a significant step in its growth.

Heritage Energy, the organization behind Kensa's expansion into Scotland, has hired Matthew Black to lead this initiative. With Black's expertise and Kensa's innovative technology, the company is well-positioned to make a significant impact on Scotland's heating landscape, contributing to the country's decarbonization efforts.
