Kazakhstan Expands Flight Connections to 28 Countries, Plans ICAO Representation
Kazakhstan has significantly expanded its international flight connections, now serving 28 countries across four continents. President Tokayev highlighted this growth, while also announcing plans to establish a permanent representation at the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
The country's civil aviation progress was praised by Salvatore Sciacchitano, President of the ICAO Council, during his visit to Astana. He commended Kazakhstan's conformity with international aviation standards, which has reached 82%, on par with leading nations. This achievement is a result of targeted investments in infrastructure, including new airports in Turkistan and Ulytau, and modernized terminals in several cities.
Kazakhstan now offers direct flights to 12 European countries, 16 in Asia and the Middle East, and 1 in America. The geographical reach of its flight network has continuously expanded, as noted by President Tokayev.
Kazakhstan's open skies system has facilitated international connections, with direct flights to 49 countries worldwide. The country's commitment to high international aviation standards has been recognized by ICAO, with plans for further cooperation and a potential visit from its president next year.
