Kazakh President, OPEC Chief Meet to Boost Global Oil Market Cooperation

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and OPEC Secretary-General Haitham al-Ghais met recently to discuss the global oil market and cooperation. Tokayev praised OPEC's role in maintaining stability and predictability.

The leaders discussed the current state of the global oil market and ways to strengthen the regional energy system's resilience. Tokayev, from Kazakhstan, viewed the visit of al-Ghais, from Kuwait, as a significant step in enhancing dialogue between his country and OPEC.

Tokayev emphasized Kazakhstan's support for the OPEC+ decision to gradually increase oil production. Both leaders stressed the importance of balancing the interests of oil-producing and oil-importing nations.

The meeting between Tokayev and al-Ghais underscored the importance of cooperation and dialogue in the global oil market. Both leaders agreed on the need to maintain balance and resilience in the energy system.
