Jupiter designates a fresh Chief Information Officer

Piers Hillier, a seasoned investing professional with a rich background in asset management and finance, has been appointed as the incoming Chief Investment Officer (CIO) at Jupiter Asset Management. Hillier is set to join the firm in February 2026, following a successful career at various high-quality firms, spanning multiple economic cycles and working closely with both institutional and retail clients.

Hillier's appointment comes at a time when Jupiter Asset Management is seeking to refine its investment processes and broaden its appeal to a wider range of clients. The firm is also aiming to acquire CCLA Investment Management, subject to regulatory approval, and has already made strides in this direction by acquiring the investment team and assets of Origin Asset Management.

Hillier views Jupiter Asset Management as one of the most well-respected names in UK asset management due to its focus on truly active investment management and a client-centric philosophy. He is particularly enthusiastic about the positive momentum at Jupiter Asset Management, driven by recent additions of outstanding investment talent and a sharper focus across a range of investment capabilities.

In his new role, Hillier will oversee investment teams and chair the Investment Committee at Jupiter Asset Management. Among his tasks will be developing new investment propositions and attracting talent. Matthew Beesley, CEO of Jupiter Asset Management, believes Hillier's appointment will help accelerate the evolution of the firm's investment capabilities.

Hillier's predecessors, Kiran Nandra, head of Equities, and Matthew Morgan, head of Fixed Income, are departing from Jupiter Asset Management. Both Nandra and Morgan have made significant contributions to the firm, and Hillier expressed his gratitude for their work during their time at Jupiter Asset Management.

Before joining Jupiter Asset Management, Hillier held various senior roles in investment management and finance, including leadership positions in asset management firms where he was responsible for portfolio management and client relationships. He has worked at Kames Capital, LV= Asset Management, WestLB, Deutsche Asset Management, and Schroders, among others.

Hillier is looking forward to working with his new colleagues at Jupiter Asset Management and helping build on the momentum at the firm, driving positive client outcomes and growth across the Group.
