Jaguar Land Rover Resumes Production After Cyberattack
Jaguar Land Rover has announced it will gradually resume production starting today, Wednesday, following a cyberattack that initially halted operations. The restart was initially planned for September 24 but was delayed.
The company's engine plant in Wolverhampton and several press shops, the body shop, the paint shop, and the logistics center in the UK will be the first to resume. Vehicle production at the plant in Nitra, Slovakia, is expected to resume later this week.
The British government guaranteed a multi-billion-pound loan to secure the supply chain in late September. Jaguar Land Rover's CEO, Adrian Mardell, described the resumption of production as 'a significant moment for JLR and all our stakeholders'. The new CEO, who will oversee the production restart over the weekend, has not been explicitly named but is expected to be announced soon.
Jaguar Land Rover's production restart is a crucial step in the company's recovery from the cyberattack. The UK and Slovakian plants will resume operations this week, with further updates to be provided in due course.
