Jaguar Land Rover Recalls 120,000 Vehicles in US Over Suspension Defect

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is recalling over 120,000 vehicles in the US due to a potential defect in the front suspension. The recall, which affects certain Range Rover and Range Rover Sport models from 2014 to 2017, follows an investigation by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

The recall is a result of 96 claims and field reports related to the Range Rover and 14 concerning the Range Rover Sport in the US. JLR has documented these issues, which involve cracks in the front suspension knuckles. The NHTSA's preliminary evaluation in June investigated 91,856 vehicles for this problem. The defect could cause the upper suspension arm to detach, increasing the risk of a crash.

Dealer notifications will begin on 19 August 2025, with owner notification letters to be sent by 30 September. Affected owners are advised to take their vehicles to an authorized JLR service center for inspection and potential repair or replacement of the front suspension knuckle. Despite the potential issue, no accidents, fires, or injuries have been reported due to this problem.

This recall is a proactive measure by JLR to ensure the safety of its customers. The company is committed to addressing the issue promptly and efficiently. Meanwhile, Tata Motors, the parent company of JLR, has recently reported a decline in quarterly net profit due to reduced demand and the effects of US trade tariffs.
