Investment manager Franklin Templeton designates new Global Investment Strategist
Michael Browne, a seasoned investment professional with a distinguished career, has been appointed as the Global Investment Strategist at the Franklin Templeton Institute, the research arm of the global investment management firm Franklin Templeton.
Based in London, Browne will be responsible for developing and delivering research-driven market insights primarily for clients and investors in the UK and Europe. His duties will include conducting independent research, presenting at industry conferences and webinars, and engaging directly with key partners and clients to help them navigate the financial markets.
Browne's impressive background includes prior roles at BZW Investment Management, Chase Asset Management (where he launched their first hedge fund), and Sofaer Capital, where he founded a successful and award-winning equity long-short fund before joining Martin Currie in 2010. Prior to that, he founded a successful and award-winning equity long-short fund at Sofaer Capital.
Before joining Martin Currie, Browne served as the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) at the firm. His appointment by Franklin Templeton is a move to strengthen its research capabilities and focus on the UK and European markets.
Browne will report to Stephen Dover, the Chief Market Strategist and Head of the Franklin Templeton Institute. This newly created role is part of Franklin Templeton's ongoing efforts to provide strategic investment insights to its clients and investors.
