Introducing Unidirectional Traffic Flow on Another Almaty Street
In Almaty, one-way traffic is set to commence on Aitykov Street from May 26, our website reports. The roadway, situated between Baymaganbetov Street and Danalyq Street, will see one-way traffic flowing in the southern direction, as part of an experimental trial aimed at optimizing the street's traffic capacity.
Further changes have been implemented for several bus routes in Almaty. According to Almaty Transport Holding, these adjustments affect both main and auxiliary routes, with most being made to the eastern and southern directions. Notably, buses now travel through the Sуюnbaя Avenue tunnel on these new routes.
The following bus routes are now operating under the new scheme:
- Routes 7, 11, 17, 29, 42, 50, 54, 59, 69, 71, 79, 91, 100, 133, 141, 208, 232 — changes in the eastern and southern directions via Raiymbek Avenue and the Sуюnbaя tunnel, with return directions remaining unchanged.
- Route 88 now runs via Gogol, Kunayev, Makataev, Nazarbayev, and then Raiymbek.
- Route 117 has a new route via Kunayev, Mametova, Nazarbayev, Raiymbek, and the Sуюnбая tunnel.
- Routes 203, 207, 222 — only the return direction has changed; a turnaround point has been added under the bridge on Nazarbayev.
- Routes 233, 252 — new final stop is Almaty-2 station.
- Routes 241, 242, 243 — final point has been moved to the intersection of Raiymbek and Nazarbayev.
