Intergas Central Asia Fined $2.9M for Unauthorized Drilling, Waste Disposal
Intergas Central Asia's Aktobe branch faces severe penalties after environmental authorities discovered unauthorized drilling and waste disposal. The company, led by Zhanat Dosanov, has been fined a total of 1.2 billion tenge following four administrative cases.
The company was found to have emitted pollutants and disposed of waste without the necessary special permit. The fine for excessive emissions can reach up to 10,000% of the fee for waste disposal. Intergas Central Asia has one month to pay the full fine before enforcement proceedings may commence.
The company's Aktobe branch was specifically fined for drilling two wells without the required environmental permits. Initially, the company paid 20 million tenge and contested the remaining amount in court. However, their appeal was unsuccessful.
Intergas Central Asia, under the leadership of Zhanat Dosanov, must now comply with the 1.2 billion tenge fine within the given timeframe to avoid further legal consequences. The company's disregard for environmental regulations has resulted in substantial penalties.
