Insurance company Progressive offering aid for those impacted by hurricanes
In the aftermath of Hurricanes Helene and Milton, Progressive Insurance has demonstrated its commitment to aiding those affected by the natural disasters. The company has pledged over $3 million to support recovery efforts, with a significant portion going directly to those in need.
Progressive's President and CEO, Tricia Griffith, emphasized the importance of doing the right thing, stating that the company is committed to aiding relief efforts and supporting organizations involved in rebuilding lives and restoring hope after disasters.
The company's Employee Relief Fund, managed by the Emergency Assistance Foundation, Inc., plays a crucial role in these efforts. The Fund oversees all aspects of issuing employee relief grants and has a total allocation of $5 million throughout 2024, aimed at helping employees facing hardships due to natural disasters or unforeseen personal hardship.
In addition, Progressive has set aside $1 million for agent relief, with $800,000 going to the national Big "I" Trusted Choice Relief Fund. The remaining agent-specific relief dollars will be used for ad hoc agent support on a case-by-case basis.
The aid is not limited to direct customers but also extends to employees, agents, and communities. In line with its core values, Progressive is involved in supporting organizations that help rebuild lives and restore hope in the aftermath of disasters.
Besides its internal efforts, Progressive has also made direct donations to external organizations. The Progressive Insurance Foundation donated $1 million to the American Red Cross for disaster relief.
While specific organizations Progressive has donated to during the Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton relief efforts are not publicly available, it is clear that Progressive is actively engaged in supporting recovery efforts.
Griffith also mentioned that Progressive's claims and customer service teams are assisting their customers during this challenging time. The company's ongoing efforts reflect its dedication to helping those recovering from natural disasters and providing critical support when it matters most.
