Indian Enterprises Secure Renowned British Safety Council International Safety Awards

India hits a staggering milestone this year, with a whopping 443 Indian businesses receiving the British Safety Council's coveted International Safety Awards for 2025. This glitzy celebration took place at the swanky Hotel JW Marriott Sahar, Mumbai.
The awards recognize and honor organizations worldwide that have demonstrated their unwavering commitment to preventing workplace accidents and fostering a healthy and safe work environment. This year, Indian companies dominated various industries, with impressive representation from sectors like construction, manufacturing, oil, gas, mining, and power and utility sectors.
A total of 117 Indian organizations secured the top-tier Distinction award, while 199 organizations bagged the Merit award. The remaining 127 organizations achieved a Pass. The winners hail from an array of sectors, with some notable mentions from the construction and transportation sectors.
The Mangaluru International Airport, for example, stole the show by securing the Distinction award and being recognised as the best in transportation or logistics in the India Auto entry section of the awards[1][2][3][5].
The International Safety Awards, now in their 67th year, are a testament to these organizations' relentless efforts to preserve the health, safety, and wellbeing of everyone in their workforce. Apart from recognizing organizations with a strong safety record, the awards also highlight those that excel in promoting wellbeing and mental health at work[2][3].
In 2025, a total of 789 organizations from 45 countries were awarded an International Safety Award[6]. An impressive 212 organizations were bestowed with the Distinction, while 371 received the Merit award. The remaining 206 organizations achieved a Pass.
