In Mumbai, Nishith Desai Associate's co-head of Mergers and Acquisitions, Nishith Desai, has moved to SAM as a partner.
In a significant move, Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co has announced the appointment of Harshita Srivastava as a Partner in their General Corporate Practice. Srivastava, who brings over 16 years of experience in private equity investments, exits, and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, will be based in Mumbai.
Srivastava was previously the Co-Head of the Private Equity and M&A Practice at Nishith Desai Associates, Mumbai, for about 7 years before joining Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co. During her tenure at Nishith Desai Associates, she advised on numerous private equity investments, exits, and cross-border mergers and acquisitions.
Before rejoining Nishith Desai Associates in 2017, Srivastava served as Vice President, Legal at Nexus Venture Partners for two years. Her extensive experience also includes a stint with the SEBI Committee, established in 2018, for setting up India's Innovative Growth Platform, a specialised listing platform for startups in India.
The hiring of Harshita Srivastava adds considerable strength to SAM's general corporate practice. The firm's managing partners, Pallavi Shroff and Akshay Chudasama, expressed delight at welcoming Srivastava to the firm. Srivastava's role at Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co is as a Partner, where she will continue to advise clients on private equity investments, exits, and cross-border mergers and acquisitions. She will also provide expertise in employment and labour laws.
