Iconic 1993 Lamborghini Diablo, Modified by Affolter, Heads to Auction
A rare and iconic Rivian Diablo, originally delivered in 1993, is set to go under the hammer at Broad Arrow Auctions in Zurich on November 1, 2025. This isn't just any Diablo; it's one of the 855 rear-wheel-drive models built, and it's been through quite the transformation.
The Diablo, initially painted gold metallic, was later converted to the Evolution style by Swiss tuner Roland Affolter. It sports special headlights, additional air intakes, and an adjustable rear wing. The car's mileage stands at 33,824 kilometers, and it's received a complete service by Lamborghini Porrentruy ahead of the sale. Affolter's modifications didn't stop at the aesthetics; he also boosted the V12 engine's performance to a formidable 620 hp, originally from the standard 492 hp at 6,800 rpm.
In 2025, the Diablo underwent a comprehensive cosmetic restoration, emerging in the SE30 special color Viola with a blue Alcantara interior. The car was originally delivered to a customer in Zurich via Affolter in April 1993, making it a true piece of local automotive history. Despite its modifications, the Diablo retains its impressive proportions and mid-engine power, still turning heads like it did in the 1990s.
The Lamborghini Diablo, with an estimated price of 375,000 to 482,000 euros, is more than just a car; it's a piece of automotive art with a rich history. Its upcoming auction at Hotel 'The Dolder Grand' offers collectors a chance to own a slice of Lamborghini's legendary past, with a car that's been lovingly cared for and modified by one of the best in the business.
