Hoerhan Group Subsidiaries File for Insolvency, Affecting 174 Jobs and EUR 29.3M in Debt
The Hoerhan Group, a diverse conglomerate with interests in plastic goods production, machine tools, and investment companies, faces a significant challenge. Four of its subsidiaries - ROBUST Plastics GmbH, AKG Plastics GmbH, HT Electronics Systems GmbH, and Robust Industry GmbH - have filed for insolvency with self-administration at the AKV district court in Krems. The move affects a total of 174 employees and numerous creditors, with outstanding wages and salaries since August and September 2025.
The insolvency proceedings involve substantial liabilities. ROBUST Plastics GmbH has liabilities of around 13 million euros, affecting 155 creditors. AKG Plastics GmbH has liabilities of approximately 6.6 million euros, impacting 99 creditors. HT Electronics Systems GmbH has liabilities of around 7.2 million euros, affecting 131 creditors. Robust Industry GmbH has liabilities of around 2.5 million euros, impacting 15 creditors. The total debt of the four companies amounts to 29.3 million euros.
The Hoerhan Group, led by managing director Dr. Thomas Hoerhan, born in 1973, is offering restructuring plans with a 30 percent quota to the affected creditors. Despite the insolvency, two companies within the group, Hoerhan Metall GmbH and Hoerhan Werkstoff GmbH, are not included in the proceedings and continue operations.
The insolvency of these four Hoerhan Group subsidiaries highlights the challenges faced by the company in its various sectors. The impact on employees and creditors is significant, with total liabilities amounting to 29.3 million euros. The offered restructuring plans aim to provide a solution for the affected parties, while the remaining companies within the group continue their operations.
