The Wikimedia Foundation, a charitable organization based in the United States and known for operating Wikipedia and other free knowledge projects, is seeking a skilled Senior Manager for its People Growth & Belonging (PG&B) Team. This role is a unique opportunity to define and execute a strategy that integrates Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) and Learning & Development (L&D) initiatives, fostering a culture of belonging and supporting employee growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to promote people growth and create an inclusive workplace environment.
  • Lead efforts that centre around DEI, ensuring that diversity and equitable practices are embedded throughout the organization.
  • Oversee Learning & Development programs aimed at enhancing employee skills, engagement, and career development.
  • Mentor team members to effectively support Wikimedia’s values and organizational goals related to growth and belonging.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have:

  • 8+ years of experience in DEI, Learning & Development, organizational development, or talent strategy.
  • A Master’s degree in relevant fields, experience in the non-profit sector, and knowledge of different cultures and regions.
  • Experience coaching and managing multicultural teams.
  • Familiarity with learning technology platforms and data-driven approaches to measuring impact.
  • Expertise in learning programme design, instructional methodologies, and leadership development.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, particularly in mission-driven, global organizations.
  • Ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on programme execution.
  • A commitment to Wikimedia's values and the free knowledge movement.

The Senior Manager will drive evidence-based DEI strategy and oversee key initiatives, including constructive dialogue spaces, racial equity commitments, and global inclusion efforts. They will define and execute the People Growth & Belonging strategy, aligning with Wikimedia's mission and organizational priorities. They will also oversee the Engagement & Inclusion Survey, ensuring data informs people strategies.

The Senior Manager will lead, mentor, and develop part of the PGB team, fostering collaboration and professional growth. They will be willing to travel as needed.
