Halloween 2025 Spending to Hit Record $13.1 Billion
Halloween spending in 2025 is set to reach a record $13.1 billion, a 13% increase from the previous year. Consumers are starting their shopping early, with nearly half beginning in September or earlier.
Leading the spending is candy, with an expected $3.9 billion in purchases. Decorations follow closely, contributing about $4.2 billion. Other popular items include costumes for all ages and pets ($4.3 billion), greeting cards ($700 million), and inflatable spooky cartoon characters from Lowe's. The Home Depot also joined the early preparations, announcing its Halloween collection in late July. Tonies kicked off the season even earlier, releasing its 'Halloween & Spuk Tonies' on August 31. Discount stores are the top choice for shoppers, with 42% planning to visit them. Per-person spending is predicted to reach a record high of $114.45.
The Halloween season is shaping up to be a boon for retailers, with consumers eager to spend on a wide range of products. Early shopping and increased spending per person indicate a robust market for Halloween goods in 2025.
