Covenant Chambers Strengthens its Ranks with New Hire

Singapore-based law firm Covenant Chambers has announced the appointment of Ng Pei Tong as the head of M&A and capital markets. This move marks another expansion for the firm, which was founded in 2016 and currently boasts a team of 25 lawyers, including nine directors.

Ng Pei Tong brings over a decade of experience in corporate finance and commercial transactions to his new role. His specialties include listings, equity and debt issues, reverse takeovers, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and private equity and venture capital investments.

Throughout his career, Ng Pei Tong has been involved in several high-profile transactions. Notably, he acted as lead counsel to China Mining International Limited in a S$900 million proposed reverse takeover. He also represented OUE Limited in the S$908 million disposal of OUE Downtown's office components to OUE Commercial REIT.

Before joining Covenant Chambers, Ng Pei Tong returned to Drew & Napier as an associate director in 2021, after starting his legal career there in 2014. Prior to his return, he worked at another law firm outside of Covenant Chambers and Drew & Napier.

Ng Pei Tong's appointment continues Covenant Chambers' recent expansion, following the additions of disputes lawyers Khelvin Xu from Rajah & Tann in February 2021 and Edwin Sim from Lexton Law Corporation in October.

In addition to its growing M&A and capital markets practice, Covenant Chambers has a broad expertise in disputes, employment, arbitration, civil and criminal litigation, estate planning, and real estate law. Key figures at the firm include Chia Huai Yuan, Ronald JJ Wong, and Nicole Evangeline Poh.

Chia Huai Yuan is a disputes specialist who joined Covenant Chambers as a director in mid-2025 from Dentons Rodyk & Davidson. Ronald JJ Wong is recognized for his employment law expertise, while Nicole Evangeline Poh is a Singapore-qualified advocate with over 10 years of experience covering a wide range of areas.

Covenant Chambers' new hire, Ng Pei Tong, will provide counsel on employment, data protection, and regulatory compliance matters, in addition to his M&A and capital markets expertise. This appointment further solidifies Covenant Chambers' position as a leading boutique law firm in Singapore.

This move towards comprehensive legal services reaffirms Covenant Chambers' standing as a leading boutique law firm, specializing in areas such as business law, including mergers and acquisitions, finance, and law.
