Göttingen Kicks Off Event Series 'Showing Attitude' for Democratic Values in Workplace

Göttingen is set to host an event series, 'Showing Attitude - Standing Up for Democratic Values in the Workplace', starting with a kick-off event on Monday, September 8, 2025, from 10:00 to 13:00 at the New Town Hall. The city, county, and University of Göttingen have jointly signed the Charta der Vielfalt, pledging to respect and value all people regardless of their background. Registration is requested by Friday, September 5, 2025, and all employees, students, and the public are welcome.

The series begins with Marlene Gohl from the Anne Frank Educational Center e.V. delivering a lecture titled 'Courage for Democracy - Together for Diversity and Cohesion'. Following this, small moderated group discussions will delve into topics such as antidiscrimination and employee participation. Additionally, three in-depth workshops are offered exclusively for employees of the participating institutions. These workshops aim to equip leaders and project managers with crash course leadership skills, enhance professional consulting and conversation techniques, and provide individual coaching for personal program design and reflection tasks. The event series coincides with the 13th national Diversity Day.

The event series 'Showing Attitude - Standing Up for Democratic Values in the Workplace' is an opportunity for the city, county, and University of Göttingen to reaffirm their commitment to diversity and democracy. By offering workshops and discussions, they aim to empower employees to react to racist remarks and stand against anti-democratic tendencies, fostering a more inclusive and respectful workplace.
