Gitex Africa Morocco 2024 Returns as Digital Growth Beacon
Gitex Africa Morocco, a leading technology event, is set to return in 2024, aligning with the Moroccan government's strategy to boost digital growth. The event, to be held in Marrakech from May 29 to 31, will mark its second edition, with over 1500 exhibitors expected to participate.
Trixie LohMirmand, Executive Vice President of KAOUN International, the event's organiser, is leading the preparations for Gitex Africa Morocco 2024. She describes the event as a 'beacon for a forward-thinking Africa', aiming to be an innovation platform and empower digital ecosystems. The exhibition seeks to establish Morocco as a leading digital hub regionally and continentally. It will feature advancements in digital and technological sectors such as cloud storage, IoT, infrastructure, healthcare, smart cities, cybersecurity, digital finance, and agricultural technology.
The event will host over 600 meetings between startups, investors, and companies. Notably, the Moroccan government is funding 95% of the costs for these startups through the 'Morocco 200' initiative. This year, 200 Moroccan startups will participate, double the number from the 2023 edition.
Gitex Africa Morocco 2024 promises to be a significant event in the region's digital calendar. With increased support for local startups and a broad range of technological advancements on display, it is set to further boost Morocco's digital growth and innovation.
