Future Price Manipulation Strategies Revealed in MART Discussion

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine (MARТ) held a press conference recently to discuss changes in price regulation, with a particular focus on Decree No.713. Anastasia Kasymova, Deputy Head of the Analytical Department of MARТ, was among those present.

During the conference, it was highlighted that MARТ specialists play a crucial role in making decisions about price regulation. One of the key topics of discussion was the adjustability of Decree No.713 in price regulation.

Decree No.713, a flexible tool, was adopted in April 2025, reducing the list of regulated goods by 120 positions, to 211 commodity groups. However, there are no direct details about potential future adjustments to Decree No.713 specifically, as discussed by MARТ representatives.

The press conference provided information about certain easements introduced for producers in Decree No.713-6, allowing them to independently increase wholesale prices without seeking permission from a special commission in some cases. This was in response to the observed price increases in meat and dairy products and certain confectionery items after the changes in Decree No.713-6.

Later, measures were tightened again for the categories of goods mentioned, requiring producers to coordinate price changes once more. It was noted that Decree No.713 has been adjusted several times in the past, demonstrating its adaptability to the evolving market conditions.

Anastasia Kasymova stated that Decree No.713 will be adjusted based on the evolving situation and as needed. She emphasised that specialists from MARТ base their decisions on the consumer market situation. The press conference concluded with a focus on discussing future changes in price regulation, aiming to maintain a balance between consumer interests and market stability.

For accurate and up-to-date information on potential future adjustments to Decree No.713, consulting official Ukrainian government releases, MARТ statements, or specialized news sources on Ukrainian economic policy would be necessary.
