Fundraising appeals issued by NGOs for the disaster-stricken Philippines, to be carried out through GBayanihan

In the wake of the heavy monsoon rains and storms that have affected more than 2.7 million people in 17 regions of the Philippines, GCash, the Philippines' #1 Finance Super App and Largest Cashless Ecosystem, is partnering with various non-government organizations (NGOs) for faster disaster relief fundraising efforts.

The GBayanihan platform, accessible within the GCash app, serves as a bridge between donors and humanitarian organizations, aiming to facilitate quick and efficient disaster response. To donate, users simply need to:

  1. Open the GCash app on their mobile device.
  2. Go to the "GBayanihan" feature within the app.
  3. Choose their preferred recipient NGO from the list of verified humanitarian organizations involved in disaster relief, such as ABS-CBN Foundation, Ayala Foundation, UNICEF, Save the Children, and more.
  4. Make their donation directly through the platform.

GCash ensures that all donations via GBayanihan go directly to verified NGOs and adhere to high standards of transparency. Donors are also advised to use only verified QR codes or the in-app feature to avoid scams and to never share sensitive information like MPINs or OTPs.

The GBayanihan platform is not just a platform for financial transactions or donations. It is also a platform for news, events, jobs, and thought leadership, aiming to reach specific audiences. The topics covered in the press release are Cities and Policy & Finance.

This method allows for a straightforward, secure, and transparent way to support flood and disaster-affected communities in the Philippines. GCash urges users to be vigilant and only donate to credible causes and organizations to avoid scammers.
