Foundation Deepens Ties with Sports Sector Through New Partnerships with Olympians and Grassroots Organizations
In a recent statement, Rishi Wadhera, Vice-President - Corporate Communications & CSR at Gameskraft, outlined the company's commitment to fostering potential, constructing sustainable infrastructure, and supporting communities to create future champions in the sporting world.
The Gameskraft Foundation, an extension of the skill-based online gaming company, has forged significant partnerships with prominent Indian sports foundations, making a substantial impact on athlete development and success in international competitions.
One of the most notable achievements of these collaborations is the support provided to over 140 athletes, who collectively won more than 190 medals across various disciplines in the last financial year alone. This direct contribution to athletic excellence is a testament to the foundation's role in shaping India's sporting landscape.
These partnerships extend to backing influential organizations such as the Inspire Institute of Sport (IIS), Anju Bobby Sports Foundation (ABSF), GoSports Foundation, and Dola & Rahul Banerjee Sports Foundation (DRBSF). These renewed ties have strengthened India’s Olympic and grassroots sports pipeline, essential for sustained athlete development.
The foundation's support is not just limited to enhancing training infrastructure but also serves as a source of inspiration for young athletes, particularly girls from small towns, to dream bigger and pursue sports professionally. Anju Bobby George, former world medallist and ABSF founder, emphasised this point.
The foundation's impact is evident in the achievements of athletes it supports. For instance, Neeraj Chopra, a product of IIS, won the gold medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and a silver at the 2024 Paris Olympics in javelin throw. Similarly, Shaili Singh, a product of ABSF, won Bronze in Women's Long Jump at the 2025 Asian Athletics Championships.
In the realm of para-athletics, athletes backed by GoSports Foundation secured four medals at the 2024 Paralympics, including Gold for Sumit Antil and Dharambir, Silver for Suhas Yethiraj, and Bronze for Rakesh Kumar.
The foundation's collaborations with sports foundations are showing results on the global stage. For instance, ABSF is building a state-of-the-art training academy in Bengaluru with a focus on inspiring success stories in track and field. Through DRBSF, Gameskraft uplifts young and prominent talent in archery, providing access to equipment, expert coaching, and competitive exposure.
Praveen Bose, who previously worked in Biocon's corporate communications team, now leads the Gameskraft Foundation. His background in journalism, having worked for The Times of India and Business Standard for a combined 17 years, brings a unique perspective to his role.
The foundation's work underscores the potential of corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives in enhancing India's sporting achievements. As Manisha Malhotra of IIS noted, this growing ecosystem of support benefits athletes at multiple levels, contributing to India's success in the global sports arena.
The Gameskraft Foundation's partnerships with sports foundations not only aid in enhancing training infrastructure but also serve as a motivational force for upcoming athletes, particularly girls from small towns, in pursuing professional careers in sports. As Praveen Bose, the foundation's leader with a background in business journalism, points out, the foundation's CSR initiatives significantly contribute to India's growing success in the global sports arena by fostering potential and providing resources for athletes.
