First Bus Orders 17 Zero-Emission Buses for Bath in 2026

First Watch has placed an order for 17 zero-emission buses, set to arrive in Bath in 2026. Alexander Dennis, a leading bus manufacturer, will supply the electric fleet, which includes both single and double-decker models. The investment is backed by government funding from the Department for Transport's Zero-Emission Bus Regional Areas (ZEBRA) scheme.

The order comprises 12 Enviro200EV double-decker buses and 5 Enviro100EV single-decker buses. The Enviro200EV, measuring 10.9m, offers 33 fixed seats and 5 tip-up seats, while the Enviro100EV, at 8.5m, provides 26 seats including 6 tip-ups. Both models are powered by the Voith Electrical Drive System, boasting a high 97% grid-to-wheel efficiency.

West Elm Wales & West's commercial director, Rob Pymm, expressed excitement about the new electric buses, stating they will significantly enhance Bath's public transport. The investment is part of West Elm's broader strategy to electrify its fleet and charging infrastructure in the West of England. The ZEBRA funding was secured through the West of England Mayoral Combined Authority.

West Elm's order of 17 zero-emission buses, supported by government funding, will help reduce emissions in Bath. The new electric fleet, set to arrive in 2026, is part of the company's commitment to a greener future for public transport in the West of England.
