Financial institution Open Banking Limited appoints Melanie Lazarus in the role of Ecosystem Engagement Director.
Open Banking Limited (OBL) has announced the appointment of Melanie Lazarus as its new Ecosystem Engagement Director. Lazarus, who joined OBL on 22 April 2022, will focus on strengthening OBL's external relationships and engagement with key partners across the open banking ecosystem.
In her role, Lazarus will be responsible for overseeing the evolution of the engagement strategy with partners, fostering collaboration and integration, and driving the development of the open banking market. Her aim is to build a more connected, inclusive, and dynamic open banking community at OBL.
Lazarus brings a wealth of experience to her new role, having previously worked at Barclaycard Payments as the brand and marketing strategy director. Prior to that, she has held senior positions in various industries, including finance, technology, and marketing.
As the Ecosystem Engagement Director, Lazarus will sit on the executive committee at OBL. She will play a pivotal role in supporting OBL's transition to a future entity.
The Open Banking Expo Awards 2025, for which Lazarus has also joined the judging panel, are in partnership with Raidiam. The winners of these awards will be announced at a ceremony on 21 October at the Business Design Centre in London. The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) is expected to publish an Open Finance rollout 'roadmap' within a year.
