Updated Article:

Yakutia's ferry services are wrapping up for the season, with the main crossing over the Lena River officially ending soon. On October 18, the Ministry of Transport of Yakutia announced that the ferry services on routes from Yakutsk to Lower Bestyakh and from Kachikatzy to Mokhsogollokh are due to finish around October 21-24.

The ferry route from Kangalassy to Sottinzy has already ceased operation as of October 18, with air-cushioned vessels now operating between Yakutsk and Lower Bestyakh. Presently, nine ferries are operational, accompanied by a tugboat. However, the number will decrease depending on weather conditions.

The Director of UК "Ferries of Yakutia," Nikolai Efimov, informed Yakutia Information Agency that the Yakutsk - Lower Bestyakh ferry will continue to run, but the fare will rise starting October 22. The autumntariffs have already been released, as per an order from the State Committee for Prices of Yakutia dated October 21, 2024.

However, a photo of an appendix to the order of PАO LORP dated October 17, 2024, has popped up on social media, showing significantly higher tariffs for transportation than those of UК "Ferries of Yakutia." This has led to discontent among cargo carriers.

We reached out to LORP's press service, who confirmed the order's authenticity. However, it concerns the operation of the ferry crossing accompanied by an icebreaker on the route 1623 km of the Lena River (left bank) - Medvezhiy Island. It's anticipated to open for transportation around November 4-5, as the river begins to freeze and the icebreaker fleet is needed. Interestingly, the tariffs there will be high. Check out the photo for more details.

Now, let's take a closer look at the ferry tariffs to see if there's a striking difference between "Ferries of Yakutia" and PAO LORP. Here are some factors to consider:

  1. Company Operations: Both entities seem to operate ferry services on the Lena River, although PAO LORP needs more clarification regarding its focus.
  2. Tariff Structure: Ferry tariffs can vary based on numerous factors like cargo type, passenger type, distance, season, and additional fees for services.
  3. Market Conditions: Tariffs might be influenced by market conditions, such as competition, demand, fuel prices, and regulatory requirements.
  4. Government Regulations: Tariffs may be subject to government regulations or subsidies, which could impact pricing.
  5. Customer Reviews and Feedback: Customer feedback can offer insights into perceived differences in service quality and pricing.

For the most accurate and up-to-date tariff comparisons, check the official websites of "Ferries of Yakutia" and any relevant information on PAO LORP. Additionally, consulting local transportation authorities or consumer protection agencies in Yakutia may provide further insights into any market or regulatory factors affecting ferry tariffs. If you need more specific information, reaching out to these companies directly or consulting local resources could be beneficial.

The Ministry of Transport of Yakutia and PAO LORP are two entities operating within Yakutia's transport industry, with each focusing on ferry services along the Lena River. The tariffs for their finance operations can fluctuate based on various factors such as cargo type, season, distance, and additional fees, potentially influenced by market conditions, government regulations, and customer reviews. A recent social media post suggests a significant difference between the tariffs for "Ferries of Yakutia" and PAO LORP, with the latter revealing higher tariffs for transportation on a specific route.
