KFC Changes Creative Agency of Record in the U.S.

Fast-food giant KFC has announced a significant change in its U.S. creative team, with MullenLowe Boston taking over as the new creative agency of record. This change comes after a comprehensive review of KFC's creative and media accounts, which began in September 2020.

Until recently, Wieden+Kennedy had been KFC's creative partner since 2015, working on the brand's campaigns and strategies. However, the decision to review the accounts was made by KFC itself.

MullenLowe Boston will now be responsible for KFC's creative strategy and executions, a role that includes revitalizing the brand and improving the perception of KFC’s food and flavor. The partnership between KFC and MullenLowe Boston is a recent development, and comments regarding the partnership were provided by both parties.

Interestingly, the review process saw MullenLowe and Fig as the finalists for KFC's U.S. creative account. However, the length of the contract with MullenLowe Boston was not disclosed.

Regarding the media agency, the recent results do not explicitly identify KFC’s media agency partner post-review. Highdive, a Chicago-based agency, has been leading KFC's latest "Comeback" campaign on the creative side, but the media agency hired or retained after 2020 remains undisclosed.

For KFC Canada, Courage is the creative agency, as indicated by the "Sorry Manners" campaign launched in mid-2025. However, the media agency for KFC Canada remains unspecified.

In summary, MullenLowe Boston is the new creative agency of record for KFC in the U.S., while the media agency for KFC in both the U.S. and Canada remains undisclosed. Further checking with current advertising industry sources or KFC’s official communications may be necessary for detailed media agency information.

A recent update has revealed that KFC has already named Publicis Groupe's Spark Foundry as its new media AOR. The change in KFC's U.S. creative agency is effective now, although the announcement was made to Adweek.
