FAMOS Plus Empowers Vulnerable Families in County Steinfurt
County Steinfurt's FAMOS plus project has been boosting the lives of vulnerable families and their children. The initiative, funded by the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs and the EU, aims to enhance living conditions and social-economic participation. Bernd Moorkamp, from WertArbeit, leads the project.
FAMOS plus fosters collaboration among institutions to provide tailored, comprehensive support. It's been a lifeline for many: 73% were long-term unemployed, 8% had disabilities, and 77% were of foreign origin. Out of 199 participants (with 557 children), 18% were male and 82% were female.
The project has shown promising results. Over three-quarters of those who completed the program were connected to other support services. Notably, 30% secured jobs, further education, or vocational training. WertArbeit Steinfurt and GEBA have been working together on this project for two years.
FAMOS plus, with its holistic approach, has successfully empowered many families and their children in County Steinfurt. Further details can be found at WertArbeit and GEBA locations, via phone, or on the project's website.
