Facial recognition technology and document management systems by IDriveAI and BlackBerry IVY introduced
Idrive Global, Inc., a leading player in Video Telematics and Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions for the transportation industry, has announced a collaboration with BlackBerry Limited. This partnership aims to make roads safer and save lives, as stated by Calin Mihalascu, IdriveAI's Chief Revenue Officer.
With over 15 years of experience in Automotive Electronics, Video, Object Recognition, and AI, IdriveAI brings a wealth of knowledge to the table. The company, which designs and manufactures its products in-house, also boasts over 10 years of industry experience and one of the world's biggest repositories of labeled and verified video data.
At the heart of this collaboration is IdriveAI's technology, which will be showcased at CES 2024 in the BlackBerry booth, #4224. The technology includes Facial Recognition AI and Driver Monitoring System AI for real-time driver monitoring in vehicles.
The system watches the driver's behavior for head orientation, eyelid closure frequency, and use of cellphones. It analyzes Distracted and Drowsy Driving in real-time, providing crucial insights for modern automotive safety standards.
These insights are used to personalize the driver's position, mirrors, steering wheel, and custom settings like playlists and sound settings. They also enable personalization for automotive software sub-systems based on driver identification.
The technology alerts the driver in potentially dangerous situations due to distraction or drowsiness. It can also be integrated with a vehicle dedicated safety software to warn the driver of pending issues or make safety decisions like automated braking and speed limitation.
Idrive Global, Inc.'s intelligent systems are enhanced by over 11 billion miles of driving data, deep learning, and industry insights. These systems have already saved hundreds of lives by preventing collisions through improved driving behavior.
This cooperation between IdriveAI and BlackBerry Limited is a significant step towards a safer future for road travel. By infusing Artificial Intelligence in vehicles running on the QNX operating system, the partners aim to create a unique in-cab, end-user experience with unmatched power and integration.
