Extended operating hours for public transportation in Nizhny Novgorod on the day commemorating the 80th anniversary of the atomic industry.

Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, is gearing up for a special event celebrating the 80th anniversary of the atomic industry on August 20, 2025. As the city prepares for the festivities, transportation changes have been announced to ensure smooth movement for residents and visitors.

Several bus routes will be adjusted to cater to the increased demand. Route No. 95 connects Street Dubravnaya and Freedom Square, while Route No. 57 links Street Dubravnaya with Microdistrict Seventh Heaven. For those heading towards Microdistrict South, Route No. 69 provides the connection from Seventh Heaven, and Route No. 66 links Microdistrict Seventh Heaven with Autovokzal "Shcherbinki".

Route No. 52 serves the area around Minina and Pozharsky Square, connecting it with Street Levinka. Meanwhile, Route No. 41 links Microdistrict Tsvety with Microdistrict Seventh Heaven, and Route No. 18 connects OAO "Lazur" with Microdistrict Verkhnie Pechery.

From Microdistrict Seventh Heaven, buses on routes No. 66, 69, 57, 52, 41, 18, and 70 will be organized towards various destinations. Route No. 26 links Microdistrict Kuznechikha-2 with Street Dolgopolova, and Route No. 90 connects ZKPD-4 with Microdistrict Verkhnie Pechery.

For those travelling by metro, intervals between trains will be reduced to four minutes from 23:30 until the metro closes, with the metro operating until 02:00. The last trains from the terminal stations are scheduled to depart as follows: "Park Kultury" at 02:05, "Gorkovskaya" at 02:07, "Strelka" at 02:05, and "Burevestnik" at 02:04.

The Center for the Development of Transport Systems in the Nizhny Novgorod region has announced these transportation changes. However, it's important to note that there are no specific public details about changes to bus and metro routes directly related to the holiday events celebrating the 80th anniversary of the atomic industry.

For precise and up-to-date information, checking local Nizhny Novgorod transport authority announcements or city news closer to event dates would be advisable. Additionally, temporary restrictions on aircraft movement were introduced and later lifted at Nizhny Novgorod Airport on August 20, 2025, and mobile internet service remains accessible in Nizhny Novgorod during this period, although outages affect some neighboring cities, which might indirectly affect transportation coordination.

As always, we encourage everyone to plan their journeys carefully and enjoy the festivities responsibly.
