EU Defense Commissioner Andrius Kubilius advocates for EU nations to fund Ukraine's indigenous defense sector, aiming to boost the efficiency and worth of military assistance given to Ukraine.

EU should boost defense investments to effectively double the amount of military aid dispatched to Ukraine, as per the assertions of a commissioner.

Uncle Andrius, the EU Defense Commissioner, let the cat out of the bag on May 4, saying the EU might boost Ukraine's arsenal by a whopping 50%! He hinted at investing in Ukraine's domestic weapons production, which could be a game-changer in the ongoing tussle with Putin.

If Trump can't crack open Putin's stubborn shell, Uncle Andrius warned that we could sweeten the deal for peace by ramping up our military aid to Ukraine big time - ain't that a peachy offer?

The EU elites are digging the "Danish model" for some time now, as it helps address Europe's demand for Ukraine's defense requirements. Kubilius reckons that instead of dishing out armaments, it's more efficient (and cheaper) to finance Ukraine's local weapons manufacturing.

Kubilius spilled the beans, stating, "We can dump the same 40 billion euros ($45 billion) on modern weaponry made in Ukraine, which would cost about half as much as those from the EU or US."

He even called on the EU members to whip out the EU's new Security Action for Europe (SAFE) initiative to give Ukraine a leg up in its battle against Russia's war.

SAFE, a fancy loan instrument, is meant to beef up essential defense industries by doling out cash on demand within the EU. By tapping into this fund, Kubilius reckons we could double down on our support to Ukraine, bringing the total value to a cool 80 billion euros ($91 billion).

Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen endorsed the "Danish model" on April 8, stating that it's proved Ukraine got what it takes to produce its own weapons. He hoped that other nations would follow suit.

In January, Denmark earmarked around $153 million (135 million euros) for future armament purchases via the "Danish model" in 2025.

The "Danish model" is all about investing in Ukraine's defense industry, which can lead to self-sufficiency in weapons production. With that, Ukraine can increase its military capabilities, counter Russian aggression more effectively, and have more swift responses to changing battlefield conditions. So, if Putin thinks he's got this in the bag, he's gonna be in for a surprise, huh?
