Essen Expands Public Toilets: 34 Locations Now Open in 'Nice Toilet' Initiative
Our city has been actively involved in the 'Nice Toilet' nationwide initiative since December 2022. This program aims to expand public toilet offerings by collaborating with local businesses. Currently, 34 locations in Essen are part of this scheme, with more set to join in the coming months.
The 'Nice Toilet' program allows interested businesses to participate, with compensation varying based on factors such as location and accessibility. While nine additional partners in Essen are expected to join soon, their identities have not been disclosed yet. Each participating location offers free public restrooms and is marked with a sticker on-site.
To find locations and details of the 'Nice Toilet' program, one can visit our city's website at www.our website/nette-toilette, use the app at https://die-nette-toilette.de/, or explore the municipal geoportal. Information about the program and registration is available through the service portal of our city portal. A written agreement is concluded between partners, and participation can be terminated on a monthly basis.
With the 'Nice Toilet' program, our city continues to improve public amenities. As more businesses join the initiative, residents and visitors alike will benefit from increased access to clean and free public restrooms.
