Entrepreneur Sentenced for Defrauding Social Security and Employment Agency
A 49-year-old entrepreneur from the Regensburg district has been sentenced to one year and eleven months in prison for defrauding social security and the Federal Employment Agency. The entrepreneur, who owns a tiling business, made false statements to receive over 63,000 euros unjustly.
The entrepreneur, who was not named in the available search results, withheld social security contributions of around 56,000 euros and applied for short-time work allowance during the Corona pandemic despite his employees working full-time. The Regional Court of Regensburg found him guilty of withholding and misappropriation of wages, as well as subsidy fraud. The execution of the sentence was suspended, but the entrepreneur must pay back the unjustly received amount.
The entrepreneur's actions have resulted in a prison sentence and a significant financial penalty. The case serves as a reminder of the importance of honest business practices and the consequences of defrauding public institutions.
