Embrace Exim Bank for a transformation towards an export-driven economy - Isaac Yaw Opoku (paraphrased)

📣 Hear this, folks! The fellow representing the Offinso South Constituency and riding the Trade, Industry, and Tourism wave in Parliament, Isaac Yaw Opoku, thinks highly of the Ghana Export-Import Bank (GEXIM) for stepping up and assisting the government in its crusade to morph Ghana's economy into an export-centric powerhouse.

Opoku, standing in for the Trade Committee's chair, Hon. Carlos Ahenkorah, expressed this at GEXIM's 'Tuesday Market on Thursday', which went down on Thursday, December 1, 2022, at the car park of the World Trade Centre in Ridge, Accra. The event showcased awe-inspiring products brewed by our homegrown entrepreneurs – stuff rightfully touted for its export potential.

Opoku suggested that it's high time we concentrated on cultivating local industries to meet our domestic needs while exchanging these goods with other nations. He reckoned that this collaborative endeavor could be game-changing for our economy in the long run.

Rosemary Beryl Archer, the deputy contact person for GEXIM responsible for Banking, echoed Opoku's sentiments. She implored Ghanaian Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMEs) to team up with the bank for skill-up sessions that would ramp up their productivity. Plus, Archer expounded on GEXIM's initiative focusing on the blend of sports and trade, dubbed 'Think Sport, Think Trade,' an effort aiming to inspire trade diversity, promote exporting, and ultimately spark economic evolution through job creation.

Archer further affirmed GEXIM's commitment to bolstering Ghanaian entrepreneurs, helping them gain a competitive edge on the international stage through various capacity-building programs and additional initiatives. To fuel our country's transformation into an export economy, she advocated for widespread support of goods bearing the 'Made-In-Ghana' tag.

Ghana Exim Bank, with a keen focus on Raw Material Development, is eager to join forces with other stakeholders to brew a steady supply of quality raw materials for its financed factories.
