Elon Musk resumes his habit of slumbering in workshops and convention halls once more.
Elon Musk, the South African-born entrepreneur, has pledged to focus more on his companies following a recent two-hour outage on online service X. According to Musk, enhancements in operational procedures are necessary to address the issues observed during the service disruption.
Musk, who has been actively engaged in the Donald Trump administration, revealed that he will be devoting increased attention to X, Tesla, SpaceX, and xAI—an AI developer with the chatbot Grok. The billionaire, who is known for his exceptionally busy schedule, stated that he will be working around the clock, seven days a week, and sleeping in conference rooms, server rooms, and factory rooms.
Following the outage on X, Musk explained that the operational issues have highlighted the need for larger improvements. This focus on his companies comes after Musk's decreased involvement in the government department for state efficiency, known as Doge, and announced plans for cost and personnel cuts.
SpaceX, the space company founded by Musk, plans to launch its new giant rocket, Starship, into space again next week. The top stage of the rocket exploded during both previous test flights.
Previously, the failover redundancy systems at X were expected to counteract outages, but they did not during the recent disruption. Upgrades to these systems and data centers are needed to prevent similar incidents in the future. The billionaire is also prioritizing critical technologies across his companies, including Tesla and the upcoming Starship launch.
