Dubai's transport network demonstrated its efficiency during the Eid Al-Fitr holiday in 2025, as the city saw an influx of travellers. The most utilised public transport modes during this period were the Dubai Metro and taxis, which recorded the highest share of ridership.
The Dubai Metro, operating on both the Red and Green Lines, carried a staggering 2.428 million passengers during the holiday. Taxis, including Dubai Taxi and franchise operators, facilitated 1.687 million trips, further highlighting the reliance on these modes of transport during peak travel periods.
Public buses also saw an increase in usage, serving 1.33 million commuters. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) had expanded routes and implemented bus-pooling initiatives to support this surge in demand. Shared mobility services such as e-hail vehicles, hourly car rentals, and on-demand buses recorded 429,616 users during the holiday.
The RTA continues to work on improving mobility solutions to accommodate Dubai's growing population and tourism demand. Strategic enhancements, such as expanding lane capacity at key intersections and introducing new bus routes, have been implemented to alleviate congestion and facilitate smoother traffic flow during peak travel times, including Eid holidays.
Marine transport services, including abras, ferries, and water taxis, also played a significant role, recording 408,991 boardings during the Eid Al-Fitr holiday in 2025.
