Dubai Hosts WETEX 2025: Global Showcase for Green Energy Innovation
Dubai is set to host the 27th Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) from 30 September to 2 October at Dubai World Trade Centre. This global event, organized by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), aims to foster international cooperation in sustainability and advance Dubai's position as a leading hub for the green economy.
WETEX 2025, under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, will feature 18 international pavilions representing companies from 65 countries. Major sponsors include Masdar, TAQA, ENOC, Siemens Energy, ACWA Power, and Hitachi Energy, with international pavilions from France, Belgium, Poland, Russia, and Canada. Participants will showcase innovative solutions in solar, wind, storage, desalination, and digital energy technologies, with notable demonstrations from Sigma Energy and firms like Ecolibri and Derun Energy.
The exhibition reinforces the UAE's commitment to sustainability, supporting the UAE's Net Zero 2050 Strategy and National Hydrogen Strategy 2050. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA and Founder and Chairman of WETEX, highlighted the event's role in international cooperation and advancing Dubai's green economy. Key highlights of WETEX 2025 include DEWA's Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park and the Green Hydrogen project, reflecting the UAE's progress towards its clean energy targets. By 2030, clean energy is expected to make up 36 percent of the UAE's energy mix.
