Dollar Tree Announces a Changeover in Its Legal Department
In a recent press release issued by Business Wire, Dollar Tree has announced that John S. Mitchell, Jr. will be taking over as the company's Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary, effective August 11, 2025.
John S. Mitchell, Jr., who joined Dollar Tree in 2021 as Senior Deputy General Counsel, has spent a significant portion of his career in the legal field. Prior to joining Dollar Tree, he was a partner at the law firm of Williams Mullen. Mr. Mitchell earned his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts from Princeton University [1][3][4].
The current Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary, Jonathan B. Leiken, is leaving Dollar Tree to pursue another career opportunity. Mr. Leiken will remain with the Company until Aug. 22, 2025 to support Mr. Mitchell in the transition [2].
