Get ready for some changes in your DHL parcel shipping expenses, folks! In an official announcement, the logistics titan has revealed a series of alterations to parcel pricing and services, set to take effect from next year, July 1, 2025. These changes encompass both personal and business clientele, within the EU and beyond.
Private Customer Parcel Pricing Overhaul
International Parcels and Small Packages
Prepare for a slight hike in the prices for your personal parcel and small package shipments abroad. Expect a moderate increase in costs for these international parcels starting from July 2025. For instance, the cost of a DHL "Päckchen M" to Zone 4 (landing on regions like North Africa and parts of Asia) will climb to €24.99, up from the current €19.99.
Remember, the new maximum weight limit for international parcels will be capped at 30 kg, following the Universal Postal Convention guidelines.
Domestic (Germany) Changes
Moving within the homeland? Prices will only inch upward for the product "Pluspäckchen" and for roll-shaped shipments. But don't worry, this price increase won't be a broad sweep across all domestic parcels; just specific items will get a tad pricier.
Service Changes
As part of the transformation, the premium service for international parcel shipping for private customers will be canned due to insufficient demand. Cylindrical shipments (roll-shaped or cylindrical packages) will tilt slightly more expensive owing to higher handling costs.
Moreover, new economy sets will be introduced for "Päckchen XS" and "Paket bis 2 kg" for EU shipping, replacing 50 and 100 discount levels because of their limited popularity. Existing economy set coupon codes purchased before June 30, 2025, will still be valid for three years after the new rates are implemented.
Business Customer Changes
Online sellers relying on DHL Parcel and DHL Returns services, get ready for a new monthly flat rate. Starting from July 2025, a fee ranging approximately from €8 to €120 will be levied, based on your agreement with DHL.
This new pricing model cuts the average cost per parcel as shipment volume escalates. But do take note that this flat rate won't be swayed by the number of shipments you make. Alongside this change, DHL Small Parcel service stays unaffected by the new monthly fee.
