Developing plans to manufacture dehydrated horse milk in Northeastern Kazakhstan

In the heart of Aytau, North Kazakhstan region, preparations are underway for a unique dairy production facility, according to Liter.kz. This factory, estimated to cost around 3 billion tenge, is slated to commence operations as early as August. Construction, which began last November, is progressing swiftly, with the project currently 70% complete.

After a series of milestones—floor laying, building construction, pipeline installation, and equipment setup—the foundation for the upcoming enterprise is being laid. By July, trained mares from various regions will be brought in, preparing for milking. The cutting-edge German equipment set to be installed includes sublimators, which will enable the conversion of liquid milk into powder.

Plans call for the farm to accommodate up to 400 mares, 200 of which will be bought from Kostanai region this year. This new enterprise will primarily produce powdered mare's milk, a versatile product, with applications ranging from infant formula to cosmetics.

Funding for the project partially comes from SPK "Soltustik," and the projected production capacity amounts to 40 tons annually. The enterprise anticipates serving both the domestic market and overseas customers. With the creation of 10 new job opportunities, this venture promises to stimulate the local economy and contribute to Kazakhstan's dairy industry at large.

Researching similar facilities worldwide, we can estimate a production timeline as follows:

  1. Planning and Design: This initial stage involves crafting the blueprint for the factory, which could take anywhere from several months to a year.
  2. Construction: Typically, building a factory of this scale might take anywhere from 6 to 24 months.
  3. Equipment Installation: Once construction concludes, the specialized machinery for processing and powdering mare's milk might take an additional 3 to 6 months to install.
  4. Testing and Launch: Prior to beginning full production, the facility undergoes testing and quality control checks—a process that may last up to 3 months.

With regulatory compliance and export logistics to consider, this new powdered mare's milk factory holds the promise of boosting nutrition and cosmetics sectors, not just in Kazakhstan, but abroad as well.

With the completion of the project by August, the new powdered mare's milk factory will enter the business sector, contributing to both the domestic market and international trade, as projected. The factory's financial aspect will be fortified by funding from SPK "Soltustik" and promises to generate income through annual production capacity of 40 tons, primarily focusing on the versatile product of powdered mare's milk, applicable in food-and-drink, lifestyle, and cosmetics industries.
