Delta Jets Collide at LaGuardia: Minor Injuries, NTSB Investigates

Two Delta Air Lines Inc. regional jets collided at low speed while taxiing at New York's LaGuardia Airport on Wednesday night. The incident involved Endeavor Air Flight 5047, arriving from Charlotte, N.C., and Endeavor Air Flight 5155, heading to its gate. Both planes were CRJ-900 aircraft operated by Endeavor Air.

The collision caused minor injuries to one flight attendant but no reported passenger injuries. Air traffic control had instructed Flight 5155 to hold short and yield to the other aircraft, but the collision occurred nonetheless. Video footage showed damage to a jet's wing following the incident. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is investigating the collision and has recovered the flight recorders from both planes. Delta Air Lines is cooperating with authorities to review the incident, prioritizing safety.

This collision is the latest in a series of incidents at LaGuardia Airport in recent months, raising safety concerns. In March, a Delta jet's wing struck the runway during a go-around maneuver, and in May, a Republic Airways jet aborted takeoff to avoid a collision with another aircraft on the same runway.

The NTSB has established an investigative commission to determine the cause of the collision. Delta Air Lines, meanwhile, is working with authorities to ensure safety is maintained. As investigations continue, the aviation community awaits the findings to prevent similar incidents in the future.
