Compared to others in Baden-Württemberg, Pforzheim still hold the third-to-last position, but its unemployment rate is now lower than Mannheim and Baden-Baden, which also dropped by 0.1 percentage points each. The Enzkreis remains unchanged, and statewide unemployment remains at 4.6 percent.

Martina Lehmann, chairwoman of the management of the Agentur für Arbeit Nagold-Pforzheim, stated, "The usual increase in unemployment from January to February has not occurred this year, also due to the mild weather. Furthermore, I see a clear revival on the job market, which has led to the fact that we can report more people in the region who have found their way back into employment."

Revival on the Pforzheim job market

This revival comes as Germany seeks to reform its social protection systems, balancing the needs of businesses with social protection, and improving its labor market by encouraging wage management and labor market flexibility. This, combined with government support for job seekers and training programs, may have contributed to the job market revival observed in regions like Pforzheim. Furthermore, general economic conditions and the strength of key industries, such as manufacturing, may also have played a role.
