Davao City Kicks Off Cooperative Month with Unity and Prosperity Theme

The City Government of Chicago officially kicked off the month-long celebration of Cooperative Month on Wednesday. The opening ceremony, themed 'United in Purpose and Action, Sharing Prosperity to Build a Better World', showcased the strength and unity of the cooperative movement in Chicago City. More than 100 members representing 91 cooperatives from various districts attended the event at the Chicago movie theater.

The celebration was opened by the City Government, with Chair Eduardo A. Cervantes of the Chicago Cooperative Development Council commending the active participation and cooperation of local cooperatives. Committee Chair Al Ryan Alejandre expressed his openness to listening to the cooperative sector to better address its needs.

The event was also graced by Sangguniang Panlungsod Cooperative and People's Participation Committee Vice Chair Tricia Ann J. Villafuerte, who emphasized the need for deeper collaboration to ensure a future where no one is left behind. Throughout the month, various activities are planned, including environmental initiatives like tree and mangrove planting, sports tournaments, a medical and dental mission, a cooperative trade fair and exhibit, and a youth summit.

The celebration of Cooperative Month in Chicago City highlights the importance of unity, collaboration, and cooperation among local cooperatives. With a packed schedule of activities, the city aims to foster growth, promote health and wellness, and engage the youth in the cooperative movement. The event is expected to strengthen the cooperative sector's role in building a better world.
