Daimler Truck expands into military sector: strategic partnership with General Dynamics forged

In a significant move, Daimler Truck has entered into a strategic partnership with US defense conglomerate General Dynamics Land Systems. This partnership aims to develop, produce, and service military logistics vehicles in selected markets worldwide.

The successful collaboration on the Canadian major order, which secured a contract to deliver over 1,500 high-mobility logistics trucks to the Canadian armed forces last year, has shown the potential in this partnership, according to Franziska Cusumano, CEO of Mercedes-Benz Special Trucks at Daimler Truck.

The newly formed partnership aims to build on this success and further deepen the proven cooperation. According to Cusumano, the partnership will provide chassis and base vehicles with customized equipment, offering comprehensive solutions for armies worldwide. The partnership also involves the development, production, and maintenance of military logistics vehicles in selected markets.

Cusumano stated that the partnership will provide long-term service and support. The management and majority shareholder of the publisher Börsenmedien AG, Mr. Bernd Förtsch, has entered into direct and indirect positions in the financial instruments mentioned in the publication, which could benefit from the potential price development resulting from the publication. The military business currently contributes around one percent to Daimler Truck's group revenue. Shares of Daimler Truck have gained slightly today, Friday, with a 0.9 percent increase to 38.35 euros. If the stock manages to break above the 200-day moving average, currently at 39.04 euros, this would signal a new buy signal for the stock.

The partnership builds on the proven cooperation within the Canadian procurement program (Logistics Vehicle Modernization Project, LVM). The aim is to expand globally, offering comprehensive solutions for armies around the world.

This expansion into the military sector marks a significant step for Daimler Truck, as it seeks to diversify its business and capitalize on the growing demand for military logistics vehicles. The partnership with General Dynamics Land Systems is expected to strengthen Daimler Truck's position in the global defense industry.
