Court Determines: AsarUme Foundation Transferred 293 Million Tenge to Aid Palestinians, Received a False Report Instead

In a shocking turn of events, the trial of Perizat Kairat, a prominent figure in Kazakhstan, has begun in the capital's court. The case centres around the mismanagement of funds collected for humanitarian aid, specifically 293 million tenge intended for Palestinian residents.

According to the investigation, the funds were transferred to the Biz Birgemiz Qazaqstan 2030 fund, a move that was supposed to ensure their proper allocation. However, Perizat Kairat and her mother, Gayni Alashbaeva, are accused of mismanaging these funds.

The investigation suggests that a significant portion of the money was not used for its intended humanitarian purpose. The remaining funds, amounting to 559 million tenge, are alleged to have been used at the discretion of Perizat Kairat and her mother. The precise destinations or uses of the leftover funds have not been fully clarified, but the allegations imply financial misconduct, possibly involving embezzlement or unauthorized use of the collected donations.

The controversy surrounding Perizat Kairat deepens as another relative is involved in a flood-related embezzlement case, according to prosecutors. This raises concerns about transparency and accountability regarding the aid meant for Palestinian residents.

The AsarUme fund, which collected the funds, started its operations on November 10, 2023, after receiving the contract and accreditation from Perizat Kairat. The fund announced the collection of 293 million tenge in its social networks on an unspecified date in November 2023. Out of the total 566 million tenge collected, only 7 million tenge was sent to the Palestinian embassy's account. The AsarUme fund refused to transfer the remaining amount to the Biz Birgemiz Qazaqstan 2030 account.

The case took a more serious turn when court documents revealed Perizat Kairat's messages with her mother, containing a selfie with 10 million tenge. They are also charged with legalization (laundering) of money and other property obtained through criminal means by a group of persons. Perizat Kairat and her mother Gayni Alashbaeva are charged with fraud in a particularly large amount.

The charges include legalization (laundering) of money and other property obtained through criminal means in a particularly large amount. Perizat Kairat provided a contract with the Palestinian embassy in Kazakhstan before the fundraising started. However, she insisted that the entire amount be transferred, and AsarUme sent 200 million tenge as per the contract. The remaining funds were never transferred, leading to the current investigation.

The visit to the international warehouse in Abu Dhabi convinced AsarUme's head that humanitarian supplies were being sent to the Gaza Strip. Perizat Kairat claimed to have access to an international humanitarian warehouse in the UAE.

This ongoing trial promises to shed light on the mismanagement of funds and the alleged financial misconduct involving Perizat Kairat and her mother. The case serves as a reminder of the importance of transparency and accountability in the handling of donations meant for humanitarian causes.

  1. The scandal surrounding Perizat Kairat's mismanagement of humanitarian funds has raised concerns in various sectors, including general-news, politics, and crime-and-justice, as it involves the misappropriation of a significant amount of money.
  2. The finance industry is implicated in this case, with Perizat Kairat and her mother allegedly diverting funds collected by the AsarUme fund to their own disposal, instead of using them for their intended humanitarian purpose.
  3. The industry of humanitarian aid has come under scrutiny due to the Perizat Kairat trial, as questions about transparency, accountability, and potential financial misconduct arise, not only in Kazakhstan but also in relation to international humanitarian warehouses.
