Construction of the cycling path at the main railway station is being marked out

The city has announced plans to construct a new bike lane and install pedestrian crossings in front of the main train station. The bike lane, which is being constructed between the station and Lohrstraße, is currently undergoing construction and will be marked once work is complete.

The new bike lane extension aims to provide a safer and more convenient route for cyclists, while also preventing conflicts between cyclists and pedestrians. The installation of zebra crossings at various locations, including Richard-Wagner-Straße and the Goerdelerring bus stop, is intended to improve safety for both pedestrians and cyclists.

Two new pedestrian crossings have already been completed in the area, with the crossings specifically over the bike lanes. The installation of these crossings is a separate measure from the bike lane construction and does not affect the opening of the bike lane, which is currently delayed due to uncertain weather conditions.

The new crossings will make it easier and safer for pedestrians to reach the bus stop, as well as other nearby destinations. Cyclists will also benefit from the new crossings, as they will be less likely to use the sidewalks, making for a more pedestrian-friendly environment.

The city has also implemented a requirement for green painting for the bike lane, which will make it more visible and help to ensure the safety of cyclists. The exact completion date for the bike lane and pedestrian crossings is still to be determined, as the project is dependent on mild temperatures and dry weather.

Stay tuned for updates on the progress of this exciting project, which is set to make getting around the city easier and safer for both cyclists and pedestrians.

  1. To cater to the transportation needs of the public, the city is planning to invest in the finance sector, especially in the public-transit industry, by improving the infrastructure of the bus stop in the Goerdelerring.
  2. With the aim of fostering a harmonious relationship between cyclists, pedestrians, and the transportation industry, the city has proposed the implementation of green-painted bike lanes and zebra crossings throughout key areas, such as Richard-Wagner-Straße and the train station's bike lane.
