City's Heat Transition Strategy Unveiled in Halle (Saale): Residents Informed on the Path to a Greener Energy Future at the Händel-Halle
On September 25, 2025, Handel Hall, Salzgrafenplatz, will play host to a significant event aimed at shaping the future of heating in Halle (Saale). The motto of the event, "Decide today how tomorrow's heating will be," encapsulates the urgency and importance of the discussion.
The event will kick off with an opening speech by Mayor Dr. Alexander Vogt at 5:30 PM in the Great Hall of the Handel-Halle. Following this, experts will present the concrete plan for Halle (Saale) in its journey towards climate neutrality.
The heart of the event will be a general exhibition providing comprehensive information on the heat transition. Visitors can expect to learn about the municipal heat plan, a strategic roadmap for Halle (Saale) to achieve greenhouse gas-neutral heat supply for each building.
From 5 PM to 8 PM, a thematic market will be held in the foyer of the Handel-Halle. Here, visitors can explore future-proof and climate-friendly heating methods. The event will also feature a thematic market, expert presentations, information booths, and a general exhibition.
Besides Energieversorgung Halle GmbH, other key actors involved in implementing Halle's municipal heat plan include the city of Halle itself, Stadtwerke (municipal utilities), housing companies such as GWG Halle-Neustadt, research institutions, industry partners, and a climate alliance called "Energie-Initiative Halle."
For building owners, digital tools will be available to check their houses, find future heating methods, and explore funding opportunities.
In line with Germany's aim to be greenhouse gas neutral by 2045, Halle (Saale) has set a more ambitious goal of achieving this milestone five years earlier.

Information booths will be available for conversations with experts. The event promises to be an engaging and informative experience for all who attend, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to the future of heating in Halle (Saale). The municipal heat plan must be approved by the city council by no later than June 30, 2026.
